Jackson County Central’s girls cross country team continued its habit of having two runners in the top 10 and the Huskies were second in the team standings at the Maple River Invitational cross country meet Thursday.
Springfield/Cedar Mountain won the team title with 38 points, with JCC second with 51.
Naiya Ayers placed third in the field of 52 runners with a time of 21:20 and Cora Pauling was seventh in 23:17.
Sophia Stencel of host Maple River, who is ranked fifth in the state in Class 1A, was the individual winner in 19:42.
JCC was fifth in the boys team standings with 120 points.
Kayden Mitchell was 22nd out of 63 runners in 21:08 and Brycen Mitchell was 24th in 21:17.
Minnesota Valley Lutheran’s Jeremy Feistner was first in 17:47.
The Huskies will have their lone home meet of the season Thursday at Jackson Golf Club.
