ST. PAUL – Thief River Falls defeated Martin County 40-25 in the consolation championship match of the state Class 2A wrestling tournament Thursday evening at Xcel Energy Center.
The Prowlers started the dual with two falls for a 12-0 lead, but the Red Bulls bounced back and the lead changed hands after each match from 132 pounds through 152. TRF won four of the final six matches.
Martin County ends its dual season with a 24-3 record.
The Red Bulls will have wrestlers in the individual portion of the state tournament that starts Friday, Rylan Cutler (120), Jesse Potts (126), Kain Sanders (145), Carver Rohman (160) and Max Olson (220).
