Fairmont limited Jackson to three hits as the Martins strengthened their hold on first place in the First Nite League amateur baseball standings by shutting out the Bulls 3-0 Wednesday at Wacker Field.
The visitors scored two runs in the second inning and added another in the eighth.
Recording hits for Jackson were Easton Bahr, Chris Gumto and Carter Snyder.
Evan Olesen started and went eight innings on the mound for the Bulls, allowing three runs on eight hits, walking one and striking out seven. Will Larson went one inning, giving up one hit.
Fairmont is 9-2 and leads the First Nite League, with Jackson and Windom tied for second with 7-4 records.
The Bulls are scheduled to play two games on the road Sunday, playing at Ruthton at 2 p.m. and Pipestone at 5 p.m. Jackson then hosts Lamberton Tuesday and Heron Lake Wednesday.
