PAYNESVILLE – Martin County West has moved up one spot to seventh in the latest Class 1A boys basketball poll by Minnesota Basketball News.
The Mavericks have a 5-0 record. MCW’s next game is against No. 9 Hancock at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the first round of the Russell-Tyler-Ruthton tournament.
The Owls, who were second in the state Class 1A tournament last spring, are off to a 3-1 start this season.
Sleepy Eye St. Mary's (7-0) remains first in Class 1A.
Two other leaders are also the same, Minneapolis North (2-1) in Class 2A and Totino-Grace (3-1) in Class 3A.
Park Center (4-0) went from second to first in the Class 4A poll.
