Martin County West defeated Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart 7-2 in the first round of the Section 2A baseball tournament at Fox Lake Sports Complex Saturday.
Blake Jagodzinske went the distance on the mound as the Mavericks moved their record to 9-11. He allowed four hits, walked one, hit one batter and struck out five.
He helped his cause at the plate with two hits including a double.
Zach Anderson was on base four times including two doubles, while Jaxson Rohman had two hits and two RBI.
MCW now plays at second-seeded New Ulm Cathedral at 5 p.m. Tuesday. The Greyhounds defeated Nicollet 7-0 Saturday.
