ST. PAUL – Jackson County Central teams fared well at the Minnesota Cheerleaders Coaches Association State Cheerleading Competition at Roy Wilkins Auditorium.
The varsity cheerleaders placed second in the Class A Non-Tumbling division.
New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva was first, followed by JCC, Dassel-Cokato and DeLaSalle.
Seniors Olivia Anderson and Olivia Blaskey were named to the honors team.
Three JCC girls performed with the all-state sideline team, Blaskey, Makayla Hotzler and Daysia Tomlin.
Erin Klassen made the sideline team as well but was not able to perform due to an injury.
Performing with the competition team were Anderson, Morgan Preuss and Lily Mohning.
Also, Olivia Anderson received one of three $1,000 scholarships awarded by the MCCA.
Jackson County Central’s elementary cheerleaders placed fifth.
Prior Lake was first, followed by Farmington, St. Michael Albertville Blue, Bloomington Jefferson and JCC.
