SHERBURN – Three Martin County West teams are scheduled to compete on Monday, and Mavericks teams have events scheduled for every day this week except Wednesday.
Naturally, everything on the schedule is subject to change.
Monday, April 4
MCW’s track and field teams will travel to Mankato for the Valley Conference Indoor Meet at Myers Field House at Minnesota State University. Competition starts at 6 p.m.
Also, the Martin County West baseball team opens its season with a nonconference game vs. Mountain Lake Area/Comfrey at Mountain Lake, while the softball Mavericks host MLAC at the Fox Lake Sports Complex in Welcome. Both of those games start at 4:30 p.m.
For both baseball and softball, the Mavericks and Wolverines are both in Section 2A for postseason play.
Tuesday, April 5
Both the MCW softball and baseball teams have nonconference dates with Fairmont.
The Mavericks and Cardinals will play softball in Welcome at 4:30 p.m., and baseball at Herb Wolf Field in Fairmont at 5:30 p.m.
Thursday, April 7
MCW’s track and field teams will have their second meet of the week at 4:15 p.m. at Mountain Lake. Joining the Mavericks and host Mountain Lake Area/Comfrey will be Glencoe-Silver Lake, Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda, Jackson County Central, Madelia/Truman/Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Martin Luther, River Valley, and Windom.
Friday, April 8
Valley Conference play is scheduled to open for the Martin County West softball team as the Mavericks host Madelia in a 4:30 p.m. contest.
Saturday, April 9
The Martin County West baseball team has a 12 p.m. nonconference game vs. Blue Earth Area at the Fairgrounds Field in Blue Earth.
