Christian Bachenberg threw three touchdown passes and also ran for a score as Martin County West opened its football season with a 47-13 win at St. James Area Friday night.
Bachenberg was 5-for-13 passing for 102 passing and the three TDs, 20 yards to Tanner Sinn, 27 yards to Jesse Potts and three yards to Zach Anderson. The senior QB also ran in for a TD from two yards out.
Carver Rohman led the Mavericks' rushing attack with 184 yards on 13 carries including a four-yard touchdown run.
Joseph Forsberg carried the ball 22 times for 86 yards and scored two TDs, both from three yards out. Anderson caught three passes for 55 and one TD.
Wyatt Williamson was charted with eight tackles and Jacob Fiala seven for MCW.
Martin County West hosts Sleepy Eye in its home opener next Friday.
