Martin County West is 2-0 on the football season after the Mavericks opened the home portion of their schedule with a 22-14 win over Sleepy Eye Friday in Sherburn.
Christian Bachenberg threw two touchdown passes, ran for another TD and had an interception on defense for the Mavericks.
Bachenberg was 7-for-10 passing for 119 yards and two touchdowns, both to Zach Anderson on plays of 9 and 29 yards. He also went in from one yard out for an MCW touchdown.
The Mavericks were 2-3 on their conversion attempts, with Joseph Forsberg running in for one conversion and Bachenberg throwing to Anderson for another.
Carver Rohman led Martin County West in rushing with 79 yards on 19 carries, while Forsberg had 51 yards on seven carries.
Anderson had four catches for 49 yards and the two TDs, Tanner Sinn caught two balls for 58 yards and Kain Sanders had two catches for 14 yards.
Max Olson had nine tackles and Wyatt Williamson eight for the Mavericks.
MCW will host Minnesota Valley Lutheran (1-1) in its homecoming game on Saturday.
