Moving up
JCC No. 2 in AA softball, MCW No. 1 in Class A

Jackson County Central and Martin County West both moved up two places in their respective class in this week’s ratings by the Minnesota Fastpitch Coaches Association.
The Huskies are now ranked second in Class AA.
JCC, 19-1, has won seven straight games since the last poll, outscoring their opponents 83-10.
Among the wins was an 8-3 road win at Mankato East, which moved from fourth to third in Class AAA.
Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial (19-0) remains first in Class AA. The Knights handed the Huskies their only loss, 1-0 on April 16.
Jackson County Central is at Class A No. 10 Wabasso (16-4) and goes to Class AAA receiving votes St. Peter (13-3) in the Big South Conference championship game on Friday.
Martin County West (19-1) and United South Central (15-2) switched spots in the Class A ratings after the Mavericks edged the Rebels 1-0 in Wells on Monday. Three of the top five teams in Class A are from Section 2A as New Ulm Cathedral (18-3) is ranked fifth.
Northfield (17-1) is again first in Class AAA, while Forest Lake (21-2) took over the top spot in Class AAAA.
