TRUMAN – Gavin Jacobsen pitched six no-hit innings and three relievers followed him to the mound in a 10-1 Jackson win over Fox Lake in First Nite League amateur baseball Wednesday.
Of the 18 outs Jacobsen recorded, 16 came by strikeout. He struck out the side in the first, second, fourth and fifth innings.
Pitching one inning apiece were Lucas Gardner (one strikeout), Sean Minder (two strikeouts) and Evan Olesen (one strikeout).
It’s the second time the Bulls have struck out 20 or more batters, having recorded 21 vs. Mountain Lake.
Shad Wacker had three hits and walked once for Jackson and Evan Olesen had two doubles.
Andy Wolf was on base five times as he drew four walks and was hit by a pitch. Mason Pohlman and Damien Phaly each had one hit for Jackson.
The Bulls are scheduled to host two games at Wacker Field Sunday, playing Ruthton at 2 p.m. and Fairmont at 4 p.m.
