Jackson County Central and Martin County West both have 3-0 records on the football season after claiming narrow wins Friday night. The Huskies were 34-26 winners over Blue Earth Area while the Mavericks downed Minnesota Valley Lutheran 13-6.
JCC trailed 26-6 early in the second quarter but scored the game’s final 28 points.
Roman Voss threw two touchdown passes and also caught two TD passes. His 65-yard connection with Gabe Wolff gave Jackson County Central its first lead of the game 32-26 with 3:56 remaining. Seth Stai ran in the two-point conversion.
The Huskies defense stopped the Bucs and JCC was able to run out the clock.
Voss earlier had thrown a 12-yard touchdown pass to Travis Rogotzke and caught TD passes of 2 and 11 yards from Brenan Runge. Wolff also had a 38-yard rushing touchdown.
Jackson County Central is at Windom next Friday.
MCW trailed 6-0 at halftime but scored two second half TDs in its win.
Zach Anderson scored on an 82-yard run in the third quarter and Joseph Forsberg went in from three yards out in the fourth.
The Mavericks host Adrian/Ellsworth next Friday in Sherburn.
