A pair of Martin County West graduates appear in the National Wrestling Coaches Association individual ratings for their respective classes.
Jaxson Rohman, a junior at Augustana University, is rated first at 125 pounds in the Division II ratings and Blake Jagodzinske, a junior at Augsburg University, is 10th at 157 pounds in Division III.
Rohman placed second at 125 pounds in the NCAA Division II tournament last year. He had an overall record of 18-6 last season, 13-4 in duals. He’s a two-time qualifier for the national tournament.
Rohman was 2-1 against Division I opponents, recorded 56 takedowns, two major decisions, one technical fall, and five falls.
Augustana is tied for 15th in the team poll.
Rohman is one of four MCW graduates on the Augustana roster, The others are juniors Payton Anderson and Miles Fitzgerald, along with sophomore Connor Simmonds.
There are also three Jackson County Central grads on the Vikings’ roster, redshirt freshman Payton Handevidt, as well as freshmen Logan Butzon and Caleb Vancura.
Handevidt and Simmons are scheduled to represent Augustana at 157 pounds at the Yellow Jacket Open in Rochester today (Saturday). Butzon is slated to wrestle unattached, also at 157.
Jagodzinske posted a record of 31-4 last season, recording two wins by major decisions, two by technical fall, and 12 by pins.
The Auggies open their season Nov. 11 at the Luther College Open.
