DETROIT – Jackson County Central graduate Keegan Moore won two matches and lost two at the NCAA Wrestling Championships at Little Ceasars Arena.
Moore, a redshirt senior at Oklahoma, competed at 184 pounds. It was his second national tourney, having represented Oklahoma State in the 2018 tourney.
The No. 27 seed, Moore opened the tournament with an 8-3 loss to No. 6 Trey Munoz of Oregon State. In his first wrestleback match, vs. Layne Malczewski of Michigan State, he got out to an 8-1 lead after the first period on his way to an 11-5 win.
In his second wrestleback, Moore scored a takedown of Wyoming’s Tate Samuelson with two seconds remaining and then the point for riding time gave him a 6-3 win. In the third round, Max Lyon of Purdue win an 11-6 decision over Moore.
Moore finished the season with a 10-6 record and was 43-28 in his college career.
