DETROIT – Jackson County Central graduate Keegan Moore will open competition his second NCAA wrestling tournament Thursday at Little Caesars Arena.
A redshirt senior at Oklahoma, Moore earned his spot in the national tourney with a fourth-place finish at 184 pounds in the Big 12 Championship in Tulsa.
He also wrestled in the 2018 NCAAs in Cleveland while competing for Oklahoma State.
Moore (8-4) is seeded 27th. He wrestles sixth-seeded Trey Munoz of Oregon State (20-3) in the first round.
Those wrestle either 11th-seeded Jonathan Loew of Cornell (26-5) or 22nd-seeded Layne Malczewski of Michigan State (23-10) in either the second round or the first round of the consolation bracket.
The Sooners qualified nine wrestlers for nationals. Each was an automatic qualifier.
The tournament continues through Saturday.
