JACKSON – The Jackson County Central boys basketball team ended a five-game losing streak Friday as the Huskies upended Big South Conference West Division co-leader Redwood Valley 70-66. The Cardinals led 33-31 at halftime.
Redwood was a 19-point winner over JCC in the team’s first meeting this season, winning 86-67 in Redwood Falls on Dec. 14.
Four players scored in double figures for the Huskies and two more finished with nine points.
Damien Phaly and Erik Hesebeck scored 16 points apiece for JCC, with Roman Voss and Kaden Cother each netting 10. Travis Rogotzke and Caleb Thurmer had nine points apiece.
Jackson County Central is 6-8 overall and 3-3 in the conference. Redwood Valley is 11-4 and 6-2.
JCC is scheduled to play away from home three times next week, playing at Worthington Tuesday and Windom Thursday before facing Minnewaska Area at Target Center next Saturday.
