SLAYTON – Jackson County Central is seeded first for the Section 3A wrestling tournament that opens Thursday with matches at four sites.
The Class 1A second-ranked Huskies finished the regular season Friday with a 48-19 win at top-ranked Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa.
JCC, 18-3 on the season, will host two matches on Thursday.
Eighth-seeded St. James Area (3-15) meets ninth-seeded Springfield (7-14) at 6 p.m. with the winner to face the Huskies about 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first match.
Other matches Thursday will be held at Pipestone, Adrian, and Tracy.
The semifinals and finals will be held in Slayton on Saturday.
The section champion competes in the state tournament Thursday, March 3 at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.
