JACKSON – The Jackson County Central wrestling team got in a tune up for a 1 vs. 2 showdown by dominating three opponents at a home quadrangular Thursday.
The Huskies defeated Madelia/Truman/Martin Luther 83-0, Red Rock Central 71-0 and Tracy-Milroy-Balaton/Westbrook-Walnut Grove 57-9.
That’s a combined total of 211-9 as JCC won 38 of 41 matches on the night. There was one double forfeit.
Next up is a dual Friday at Belgrade as Jackson County Central (No. 2 Guillotine/No. 1 Rofkin faces Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa (1/2). The JV match is at 6 p.m., with the varsity at 7.
No. 6 Long Prairie-Grey Eagle/Browerville had been scheduled to make it a triangular, both schools were closed Friday due to bad weather in that area.
A total of 10 Huskies went 3-0 in Thursday’s quad, Nolan Ambrose, Kie Anderson, Logan Butzon, Thomas Freking, Dylan Withers, Payton Handevidt, Caleb Vancura, Will Freking, Trace Michelson and Cameron Scholten.
Landon Andrews was 2-0. Going 1-0 were Isaiah Rodriguez, Clay Malchow and Andrew Boyum.
Matthew Haley was 2-1. Isaac Rodrguez was 1-1. Ben Dahlin was 0-1.
A couple of Huskies reached milestones Thursday.
Ambrose, a sophomore, earned the 100th win of his career vs. MTML.
Butzon, a junior, broke the career program takedown record. He is currently at 728. Matt Kraft held the record with 725.
