Baseball season in Jackson will last at least one more day.
On Saturday, the Jackson American Legion baseball team concluded its season at the state Division II tournament at Redbird Field in Luverne.
The Tarantulas were 8-6 winners over Chatfield in a consolation bracket semifinal in the morning and then lost 7-6 to Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton in the consolation championship in the afternoon.
Meanwhile, the Jackson Bulls defeated the Hadley Buttermakers 8-5 in Game Two of their Region 13C amateur baseball series at Laurie Mahon Field in Hadley. The road team has won both games in the best-of-three series, which is tied 1-1.
Game Three is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday in Hadley.
Sunday’s winner will continue its season for two more weeks, starting with Game One of a best-of-three Region 13C Final Four series at the Milroy Irish Wednesday.
Fairmont and Luverne meet in the other Final Four series. The Final Four series winners will play in the championship series and the losers of the semifinals will play in the third-place series.
Three teams will qualify for the state Class C tournament at Dundas, Faribault and Miesville.
