Jackson County Central will play in the championship game of the Section 3AA boys basketball tournament for the fourth time in school history when the Huskies play Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta at 8 p.m. Thursday at Southwest Minnesota State University.
The Huskies have won each of their first three appearances:
2016: Jackson County Central 70, Montevideo 65 (OT)
2017: Jackson County Central 80, Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta 71
2020: Jackson County Central 69, Minnewaska Area 60
Jackson High School played in the 1987 state Class A tournament as the Region 2A champion.
MACA is in the 3AA title game for the third time in four seasons.
The Tigers won the section title two straight years:
2021: Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta 57, Pipestone 49
2022: Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta 56, Redwood Valley 54
Morris High School played in the one-class state tournament in 1955 and also in 1980, 1994 (Class A runner-up) and 2004.
20-win seasons
JCC has a 20-7 record this season. It’s the fourth time the Huskies have reached the 20-win mark.

Big South Conference
The Huskies are one of three current Big South Conference teams still playing.
Waseca (18-10) is playing Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial (24-4) for the Section 2AA South Sub-Section title at 8 p.m. Monday at Taylor Center at Minnesota State University. LCWM won the regular-season game between the teams 62-48 on Feb. 19.
The winner of that game will play the winner of the 2AA North title game between future Big South Conference member Belle Plaine (20-7) and Glencoe-Silver Lake (17-11) for the section title on Thursday at MSU.
Section 3A
The Section 3A championship game will be played at 5 p.m. Thursday at SMSU with Central Minnesota Christian (19-10) facing Russell-Tyler-Ruthton (22-7).
