MANKATO – In a season where she’s received numerous awards for her achievements on the basketball court, Hanna Geistfeld of Truman has earned one for her work in the classroom.
Geistfeld, a 6-foot senior with the Bethany Lutheran College women’s basketball team, has been named a first-team NCAA Division III Academic All-District 6 selection by the Collegiate Sports Information Directors Association. That district consists of schools in Minnesota, Michigan and Wisconsin.
To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average on a 4.0 scale.
Geistfeld is an elementary education major with a 3.56 GPA.
She is the only selection from the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference. Her name will now be forwarded for Academic All-American consideration.
