Jackson County Central offensive tackle Weston Rowe attended Junior Day at South Dakota State and received an offer from the Jackrabbits before he left Brookings.
SDSU is the fourth FCS school and eighth overall to make an offer to the 6-foot-7, 270-pound junior.
Rowe is the 18th-ranked player in the state for the Class of 2026. He is listed as the No. 2 uncommitted offensive lineman in that class by prepredzone.com.
The Jackrabbits play in the Missouri Valley Football Conference. South Dakota State was 12-3 overall in 2024, 7-1 in conference play in Dan Jackson’s first year as head coach.
Jackson played at SDSU and was also a graduate assistant with the Jackrabbits. He’s also coached at Northern Illinois, Vanderbilt and Idaho.
SDSU lost to eventual champion North Dakota State 28-21 in Fargo in the 2024 FCS semifinals after winning the national championship in 2022 and 2023. The Jackrabbits also lost the 2020 national title game to Sam Houston State and fell to Montana State in the semifinals in 2021.
