BUFFALO LAKE – Jackson County Central had one golfer advance to the second day of the Section 3AA boys golf tournament Thursday at Oakdale Golf Club. The Huskies were 11th in the team standings and will not advance as a team.
The top five teams advanced, as did the top individuals not on those teams to equal 44 players on Day 2.
Sophomore Sam Brinkman carded a 77 Thursday to advance to Day 2 on Thursday, June 2, also at Oakdale.
The Huskies were 11th in the team standings with a 357 total.
Other counting scores for JCC were Kasey Grimmius (92), Luke Anderson (93) and Tavin Miller (95). Also playing were Tanner Haar (96) and Gavin Thies (106).
Day 1 of the girls tournament was postponed to next Wednesday. Girls qualifiers will play their Day 2 on June 2 as well.
The section championship and top five individuals not on that team will advance to the state tournament June 14-15 at Ridges at Sand Creek in Jordan.
