JCC’s Rosenbrook advances to state in two events
Romi Rosenbrook extended her high school gymnastics career by a week after her performance at Saturday’s Section 3A meet in Luverne qualified her for the state meet in two events.
The Jackson County Central senior placed fifth on floor exercise with a score of 9.0 and sixth on uneven parallel bars (7.8) to advance to the state meet in each of those events.
The top three in the all around qualified for state, along with the top three finishers on each individual event who didn’t qualify as an all arounder.
Rosenbrook also finished fifth on beam (8.85), narrowly missing a trip to state in that event.
The individual portion of the state meet is Saturday at Roy Wilkins Auditorium in St. Paul. Worthington will represent the section in Friday’s team competition after winning the team title with a 138.225 total.
Junior Clara Brinks and sophomore Braelyn Boogerd each had a pair of top 10 finishes.
Brinks was sixth on floor (8.95) and 10th on beam (8.525) and Boogerd placed eighth on vault (8.625) and 10th on floor (8.65).
Luverne was second behind Worthington in the team competition (133.925) and JCC was third (131.0).
