Jackson held off a last inning rally to edge Springfield 5-4 in American Legion baseball Monday at Riverside Park in Springfield.
Post 130 scored two runs in the top of the first, with Springfield pulling even with a two-run third inning. Jackson scored one in the fourth and two in the fifth for a 5-2 lead before Springfield scored twice in the bottom of the sixth and final inning.
Thomas Liepold had three hits for the Tarantulas, with Logan Butzon collecting two hits including a double and walking once.
Gabe Wolff homered to lead off the fifth inning and was also hit by a pitch.
Brett Rossow and Brennan Runge also had hits for Jackson.
Butzon started on the mound and went three innings. Travis Rogotzke pitched two-plus innings and Runge closed out the game.
Jackson will host Heron Lake-Okabena in a 6:30 p.m. game Thursday.
