There were a total of 36 strikeouts as Worthington edged Fox Lake 2-1 in an amateur baseball game Sunday at the Worthington Middle School Field.
Two Cubs pitchers combined to strike out 22 Foxes.
Luke Brandner pitched seven innings and recorded the win as he allowed one hit, walked seven and struck out 16. Blake Ahrenstorff went the final two innings for Worthington, allowing one unearned run on two hits, not walking a batter and striking out six.
Paxton Gravlin took the loss for Fox Lake as he went eight innings, allowing two runs on seven hits, walking one and striking out 14.
Blake Buntjer had a hit and walked twice for the Foxes.
Blake Jagodzinske and Carter Brudilie also had hits. Lucas Larson and Zach Anderson both walked twice.
The Foxes host Pipestone at 5 p.m. next Sunday in Truman.
