JACKSON – The Jackson American Legion baseball team split two games to start the week.
The Tarantulas were 13-1 winners at Wabasso Monday before falling 7-5 in eight innings to Springfield at Wacker Field Tuesday.
Cameron Scholten pitched a complete game in the win over Wabasso, striking out 11. He also had three hits and three runs batted in.
Payton Handevidt and Ben Spaeth had two hits apiece for Post 130.
On Tuesday, Jackson trailed 4-1 before rallying to tie the game at 5-5 before falling in extra innings.
Bryson Powers had two hits including a triple and Handevidt had two hits including a double.
Spaeth had a hit and walked twice, Gabe Wolff doubled and walked and Scholten doubled.
Logan Butzon pitched four innings the Tarantulas fell behind due to Post 130 errors according to Coach Blaise Jacobsen. Brett Rossow went the rest of the way.
Jackson hosts Heron Lake Thursday.
