Brandon Williamson had a quality start in his most recent outing for the Louisville Bats, the Triple-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds.
The Martin County West graduate allowed one run on one hit in six innings. He walked three, hit one batter and struck out three.
Williamson threw 88 pitches, 54 for strikes.
He wasn’t involved in the decision. Louisville trailed 1-0 when Williamson left the game but the Bats scored one in the eighth and three in the ninth to beat the Omaha Storm Chasers (Kansas City’s Triple-A affiliate) 4-3.
It was Williamson’s eighth start for Louisville. He has a 1-3 record and his earned run average dipped a little to 3.62.
In 31.1 innings he has allowed 16 runs (14 earned) on 36 hits, walking 20, hitting two and striking out 30.
Combined with his time with Double-A Chattanooga, Williamson has a 6-5 record with a 3.96 ERA. He’s pitched 104.2 innings, allowing 48 runs (46 earned) on 98 hits, walking 63, hitting eight and striking out 107.
The Bats and Storm Chasers will play in Louisville through Sunday.
After an off day Monday, the Bats Louisville head to Toledo for six games vs. the Mud Hens (Detroit’s Triple-A affiliate) for six games starting Tuesday. Williamson is tentatively scheduled to pitch again in the opening game of that series.
