Members of the Jackson Racing Hall of Fame committee have announced this year’ group of four inductees.
They are:
The late Paul Jerousek, who was flagman at Jackson Speedway for many years.
The late Dan Voigt who, was instrumental in forming a safety team at Jackson Speedway in the early 1990's.
Troy Schmidtke, a track champion in three divisions, hobby stocks, stock cars, and double barrel sprint cars. He also picked up Jackson Nationals wins in all three classes
Randy Winter, a winner of track championships in both the Modified and Sport Mod divisions.
The induction ceremony will be held on Saturday, July 8 at the Jackson American Legion. There will be a noon meal followed by the induction of the class of 2023.
High Bank Nationals
Logan Schuchart dominated the 35-lap main event at Huset’s Speedway on Friday night during the final preliminary round of the second annual Huset’s High Bank Nationals.
The $20,000 victory was Schuchart’s first World of Outlaws win at Huset’s and it moved him into the lead following the final preliminary night.
That locks him into the King of the Hill event, which sets the first few rows of the WoO record $250,000-to-win A Main on Saturday.
“It's huge,” Schuchart said. “We want to be able to be there at the end of the night. If you’re starting 10th or 15th or whatever it’ll be tough to come from there. We have a great shot. Shout out to Huset’s Speedway, Tod Quiring and his team. It’s just awesome to have a race like this at this premier facility and racing for a huge chunk of money.”
Rounding out the top five Friday were Michael Kofoid, Spencer Bayston, Brad Sweet and David Gravel.
James McFadden won the Thursday A Main and Kyle Larson won on Wednesday.
Fairmont Raceway
Fairmont Raceway gets back to action Wednesday when it will be Salute to Ag Night. All five regular classes will be running.
