Huset’s Speedway
Kaleb Johnson, Ty Wilke and Ryan DeBoer won at Huset’s Speedway on Sunday.
Johnson advanced from sixth to capture his second straight Cressman Sanitation 410 Outlaw Sprint Cars main event to start the season. He’d won his first career 410 winged sprint car event in the opener.
“The guys gave me a great race car and I could put it anywhere on the race track until the rubber came in,” he said. “It’s a dream to drive and I couldn’t be more thankful for everybody a part of this team.”
Ryan Timms finished second and Mark Dobmeier third. Riley Goodno was 13th in the DeWall Racing No. 16.
Wilke led all 20 laps for his first career Heser Auto & Detailing RaceSaver Sprint Car Series victory.
Michalob Voeltz placed second by 0.753 seconds. Jeridan Jordahl was third.
DeBoer led all 18 laps of the Nordstrom’s Automotive Late Model Street Stocks main event to score his first career victory at Huset’s.
Gravel sweeps
Big Game Motorsports driver David Gravel swept a World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series doubleheader at Ohsweken Speedway in Ohsweken, in Ontario, Canada last week.
He was victorious last Tuesday and Wednesday at the Federated Auto Parts Showdown at Ohsweken, giving him a series-leading eight wins this season. It marked his first two wins at the track in his first time competing there since 2017.
“I had a lot of confidence going there knowing it’s a slick track and how good we’ve been on slick tracks,” Gravel told insidelineproductions.com. “I feel I’m a better driver today than I was in 2017. It was one of those things where we were good every time we hit the track. You had to be real patient in those features. A lot changes throughout a 30- or 35-lap race. It was fun.”
Gravel increased his lead in the World of Outlaws championship standings to 178 points.
Sunday’s show at Cornwall Motor Speedway in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada, was rained out.
The next three World of Outlaws races for the team will occur over Memorial Day weekend.
They’ll be at Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio, during the Attica Sprint Car Showdown on Friday; at Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio, during the Sharon Sprint Car Showdown on Saturday; and at Atomic Speedway in Chillicothe, Ohio, during the Chillicothe Classic on Memorial Day.
