Fairmont Raceway got its season underway on Friday.
Jason Bass of Fort Dodge was the C&B Operations feature winner and he also won the heat race.
Lyle Sathoff of Sherburn was second in the feature and Travis DeBoer of Fairmont third.
Claiming the win in the State Bank of Fairmont Stock Cars class was Derek Green of Granada.
Dunnell’s Chance Larson was second and Jeff Lyon of Duncombe, Iowa third. Myles Michehl of Fort Dodge won the heat race.
Zach Davis of Savannah, Mo. was the winner of the Nuitrien Ag B-Mods feature, with 2022 track champion Jared Boumeester of Waseca second and Kullen Kath of Owatonna third.
Boumeesgter and Klay Beemer of Fairmont won the heat races.
Weston Koop of Rockwell, Iowa was the Finke Excavating Hobby Stocks feature winner, with Jeremy Crimmins of Fort Dodge second and Parker Larson of Lewisville third.
Heat winners were Larson and Koop.
Logan Kelly of Fairmont captured the feature in the Extreme Powdercoating Tuners class. Slade Fitzgerald of Dunnell didn’t finish his heat race but was second in the feature and Dale Gatton of Fairmont placed third.
Defending track champion Alan Lahr of Nicollet won the heat race.
Next week the racing in the Friday Night Lights series will be at Sports Raceway Park in Fort Dodge. The next event in Fairmont is Legends Night on May 19.
Knoxville Raceway
Kaleb Johnson of Sioux Falls ran in both the 410 and 360 class at Knoxville Raceway Saturday night and Brooke Tatnell of Sans Souci, NSW, Australia piloted the DeWall Racing No. 16 in the 410 class.
For the 410s, Johnson timed 13th of the 28 cars and was then second in his heat and 10th in the A Main.
In the 360 division, Johnson was 12th of 29 cars in the time trials, won his heat race and placed seventh in the A Main.
Tatnell timed 16th, was second in his heat race and 14th in the A Main.
Aaron Reutzel of Clute, Tex. won both the 410 and 360 features, becoming the fifth driver in Knoxville Raceway history to do so.
He joins Terry McCarl, who has done it four times; Brian Brown and Justin Henderson, who have each done it three times; and Dennis Moore Jr.
I-90 Speedway
Dusty Ballenger of Harrisburg, S.D. won the IMCA Racesaver Sprint Car feature at I-90 Speedway in Hartford, S.D.
Andrew Sullivan of Arnolds Park was sixth in the feature after winning his heat race.
