Here are some racing items from events on the Fourth of July weekend.
Fairmont Raceway
Ryan Gustin of Marshalltown was the winner of the 30-lap A Feature winner of the XR Super Series Late Model stop at the Bacon Town Showdown at Fairmont Raceway Sunday.
Brent Larson (Lake Elmo) was second, followed by Tad Pospisil (Norfolk, Neb.), Blair Nothdurft (Renner, S.D.) and Gary Brown Jr. (Brandon).
Gustin, Northdurft and Bobby Pierce (Oakwood, Ill.) were heat winners.
Also, Gustin was fast qualifier in 17.525.
Finishing first in the 20-lap Finke Excavating Hobby Stocks feature was Dustin Gulbrandson Sioux Falls).
Landon Krohn (Rowena, S.D.) was second, Parker Anderson (Welcome) third. Jeremy Wagner (Graettinger) fourth and Brandon Nielsen (Spencer) fifth.
Nielsen and Gulbrandson won the heat races.
Claiming the 25-lap USRA Modifieds feature was Don Gerritsen Jr. (Rock Rapids).
Filling out the top five were Rodney Sanders (Happy, Tex.), Kelly Shryock (Fertile), Dustin Wiederhoeft (Fairmont) and Cole Anderson (Le Center).
Heat winners were Gerritsen and Sanders.
There will be racing Friday at Fairmont with Tuners, Hobby Stocks, B-Mods, Stock Cars and Modifieds.
Huset's Speedway
Garet Williamson, Brady Donnohue and J.J. Zebell each claimed their first feature victory of the season at Huset’s Speedway Sunday during Metro Construction Night.
There have now been 20 different winners in 22 main events this season.
Chase Randall was second, followed by Mark Dobmeier, Justin Henderson, Tim Estenson, Kaleb Johnson and Brooke Tatnell.
Scott Winters won the B Feature. Winning heat races were Johnson, Estenson, Dobmeier and Randall.
Kerry Madsen and Henderson led the qualifying groups.
Brady Donnohue won the 20-lap Wyffels Hybrids RaceSaver Sprint Car Series featue.
Filling out the top five were Shayle Bade, Cole Vanderheiden, Trefer Waller and Koby Werkmeister.
Werkmeister and Jacob Peterson were B Feature winners.
Heat winners were Trefer Waller, Bayley Ballenger, Bade and Jay Masur.
JJ Zebell was the Nordstrom’s Automotive Late Model Street Stocks feature winner.
Next Sunday will be Huset’s Hall of Fame Night.

Halverson runs out west
Brandon Halverson of Jackson filled in as the driver in the Ziebarth Motorsports 360 sprint car for a pair of races in South Dakota.
On Friday at Black Hills Speedway in Rapid City, Halverson started seventh in his heat race and was not able to finish due to some difficulties with the engine. In the feature he started 11th and ended fourth.
At Bandit Speedway in Box Elder on Saturday, Halverson won his heat race after starting second and then started second in the feature and placed fourth.
