Four nights of racing remain on this year’s Jackson Motorplex schedule.
The original schedule shows that there is five nights remaining, but track officials last week announced that the IMCA race scheduled for Tuesday, July 25 had been canceled, citing that they wanted to work with the Jackson County Fair Board due to concerns about a busy day of activity at the Fairgrounds.
The release also said the cancelation gives racers a better chance to prepare for the Salute to Veterans Tour races scheduled for July 26-29.
That means that the next event at the track is the New Fashion Pork 360 Challenge presented by Best Western Fairmont featuring the Barb and Dean Wieskus Memorial on Friday, July 28.
The Gunderson Racing Inc. Midwest Sprint Touring Series and QualityFreightRate.com Midwest Power Series 360 sprint cars will compete in Jackson for the final time this year during the showdown. The Wyffels Hybrids RaceSaver Sprint Car Series will be in action as well.
Aaron Reutzel won the only 360 sprint car feature this season while Blaine Stegenga and Brandon Buysse each have a Wyffels Hybrids RaceSaver Sprint Car Series victory at Jackson Motorplex this year.
The final three dates for the season are Aug. 17-19 for the AGCO Jackson Nationals powered by FENDT. The World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series event features the same format as last year with drivers accumulating points throughout a full World of Outlaws program the first two nights. The combined point total sets the stage for the $25,000-to-win finale.
Support divisions will be the Wyffels Hybrids RaceSaver Sprint Car Series on Aug. 17-18 and the Upper Midwest Renegades Sprint Car Series on Aug. 19.
Since becoming a World of Outlaws event in 2017, four-time and reigning champion Brad Sweet and Logan Schuchart are the only two drivers with multiple Jackson Nationals triumphs. Sweet won in 2017 and 2019, while Schuchart went back-to-back in 2020 and 2021.
The other years belong to 10-time Series champion Donny Schatz, in 2018, and Carson Macedo, who scored the prestigious win last year.
With the event taking place the weekend after the NOS Energy Drink Knoxville Nationals, it is projected to attract a large field of competitors, including weekly competitors like current track points leader Aaron Reutzel, rising star Chase Randall, veteran Brooke Tatnell and more.
Mark Dobmeier has captured the only 410 winged sprint car feature at Jackson Motorplex this season as he won the inaugural Merle Johnson Memorial last month.

Rounding out the top five were Tyler Drueke (Eagle, Neb.), Chase Randall (Waco, Tex.), Brooke Tatnell (San Souci, NSW, Australia) and Mark Dobmeier (Grand Forks).
Tatnell set quick time during qualifying before Drueke, Dobmeier and Kaleb Johnson (Sioux Falls) won the heat races. Johnson was not able to finish the feature, placing 20th.
Dan Carsrud (2) won the 20-lap Wyffels Hybrids RaceSaver Sprint Car Series feature, with Cole Vanderheiden (Papillion, Neb) and Jeremy Kerzman (Grey Eagle, Neb.) rounding out the podium.
