Two weeks after the World of Outlaws sprint cars were at Jackson Motorplex for the Jackson Nationals, the World of Outlaws late models will be in town this weekend. The Tri-State Late Models will also compete both nights.
It will the fourth time the World of Outlaws late models will compete in Jackson.
The first time was on June 18, 1988 when Willy Kraft of Lakefield was the feature winner.
Last year, Ricky Thornton Jr. (Chandler, Ariz.) won on Saturday after Ricky Weiss (Headingly, Manitoba, Canada) had won on Friday.
Defending series champion Brandon Sheppard (New Berlin, Ill.) has a 58-point lead over Chris Madden (Gray Court, S.C.) in the WoO point standings, with Tyler Bruening (Decorah) 216 points back. Weiss is fourth, 274 points out and Dennis Erb Jr. (Carpentersville, Ill.) is fifth, 320 points off the pace.
In the Tri-State Late Model Series, Justin Zeitner (Malvern, Iowa) has a 54-point lead over Blair Northdurft (Renner, S.D.). Chad Olson (Hendricks) is 86 points out, Brad Vogt (Pierce, Neb.) trails by 170 points and Gary Brown Jr. (Brandon, S.D.) is 194 points off the pace in fifth.
Friday's 40-lap feature will pay $10,000 to win, with Saturday's 50-lap main event paying $20,000.
After this weekend, the next event at Jackson will be Friday, July 16 for the Barb Wieskus Memorial with the Midwest Sprint Touring Series/Midwest Power Series and RaceSaver Sprint Car Series.

Huset's
The Northern Outlaw Sprint Association makes its fourth appearance of the season at Huset’s Speedway in Brandon Sunday. The RaceSaver Sprint Car Series and late model street stocks will also compete.
Austin McCarl has four 410 wins at Huset's this season, including two of the three NOSA races.
Meanwhile, Carson McCarl holds a slim two-point advantage over Justin Henderson in the track championship standings.
Jade Hastings (Grand Forks) owns an 15-point lead over Wade Nygaard (Grand Forls) in the NOSA point standings.
Prior to the visit to Huset's, the series has a two-day event scheduled at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks Thursday and Friday and is then slated to compete at Devils Lake Speedway in Crary, N.D. Saturday.
