Skylar Prochaska of Lakefield won a heat race Thursday night at the Knoxville Nationals and a busy eight-day stretch is coming up at Fairmont Raceway.
Knoxville
Prochaska was a heat race winner and finished 13th out of the 24 cars in the A main on the second night of qualifying at the Knoxville Nationals Thursday. He had started 17th in the A.
Earlier, he was 34th in qualifying.
Prochaska will be part of Friday’s “Hard Knox” program.
Brian Brown (Grain Valley, Mo.) won Thursday's A main, his 55th career win at Knoxville. The win paid $12,000.
Rounding out the top five were Kyle Larson, Brent Marks, Brad Sweet and Rico Abreu.
Jack Dover won the C main and Larson claimed the B. Winning heat races in addition to Prochaska were Sammy Swindell, Sawyer Phillips, Greg Wilson and Marcus Dumesny. Kasey Kahne had quick time.
Gio Scelzi and Brad Sweet (high point driver on Thursday) will share the front row for Saturday’s championship event.
Fairmont
There's activity scheduled four times in the next eight days at Fairmont Raceway.
On the big track, races are slated for tonight and then two races during the Martin County Fair, Monday and next Friday with Modifieds, Stock Cars, B Mods, Hobby Stocks and Sport Compacts. There's also racing in the Bullring on Sunday.
