It's a basketball term, but it's one that is on the collective minds of the Jackson County Central and Luverne football teams.
Rebound.
The Huskies and Cardinals will both be looking to rebound from season-opening losses on their home field when they meet up at 7 p.m. Friday at Swearingen Field.
JCC lost its opener to Maple River 35-8, while Luverne fell to Redwood Valley 20-6.
After using four quarterbacks in its opener, Jackson County Central has settled on eighth-grader Roman Voss to start and likely get most of the snaps vs. the Cardinals.
Coach Tom Schuller said Voss gives the Huskies the best chance to have a balanced offensive attack of running the option while also having the ability to throw the football.
JCC had 173 yards offense last week vs. Maple River.
There will be a tailgate meal, with walking tacos being served for $5. Proceeds will go to the JCC football program.
The Huskies will open their South Central Silver District schedule next week at Blue Earth Area.
