Mavericks getting mention in softball poll
Martin County West is receiving votes in Class 1A for the first time this season in the latest ratings by the Minnesota Fastpitch Coaches Association.
The Mavericks have a 6-3 record, with those losses coming to Windom (receiving votes in Class 2A), United South Central (rated fourth in Class 1A) and Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial (ranked second in 2A).
MCW had a game vs. Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther postponed Thursday. Next on the schedule is a nonconference game Monday at Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s.
All four leaders remain the same, New Ulm Cathedral (1A), Randolph (2A), Cretin-Derham Hall (3A) and Rosemount (4A).
