Pipestone scored 11 runs in its final two at-bats as the A’s were 12-1 winners over Lakefield in amateur baseball Friday in Pipestone.
The A’s scored one run in the third and four in the fifth for a 5-0 lead. After the Frogs scored once in the top of the sixth, Pipestone came back with seven in its half of the frame.
Gabe Wolff had both Frogs hits against A’s pitcher Mitchell Biever. Wolff also walked once, stole a base scored Lakefield’s lone run on an error.
Biever went the distance for Pipestone, allowing the two hits, walking three and striking out 12.
Phil Pronk was called on to start for Lakefield and went four innings and took the loss. Andrew Hesebeck and Brenan Runge also pitched.
The Frogs will host Windom at 2 p.m. Sunday.
