Eagles drop nonconference game to Packers
The Windom Area boys hockey team fell to 0-2 on the season Tuesday with a 10-4 nonconference road loss to Austin at Riverside Arena.
Nick Espenson scored two goals for the Eagles.
Jessy Gentry and Jonah Lohse scored one goal apiece. Daniel Staples and Alex Cory each had an assist.
Keagan Koster made 11 saves on 14 shots and Kole Espenson had 19 saves on 26 shots. Windom Area put 24 shots on Packers netminder Tait Johnson.
The teams will play again Jan. 27 in Windom.
The Eagles play another Big Nine Conference team on the road Monday, traveling to Faribault for a 7:30 p.m. game. The Falcons haven’t played a game yet. They open their season at Austin Saturday.
