Sadie Hotzler, Josie Dvorak to compete in state event

Two Jackson girls will be competitors in the Minnesota High School Rodeo Association State Finals this weekend.

Sadie Hotzler and Josie Dvorak will compete Friday through Sunday at Dead Broke Arena in Hugo.

Entries will vie for spots in the National High School Finals Rodeo next month in Rock Springs Wyo.

The top four in each event qualify for nationals.

Here are their current positions heading into this weekend’s state event:

• Barrels: Sadie Hotzler, 12^th; Josie Dvorak, 32^nd

• Breakaway roping: Sadie Hotzler, 6^th; Josie Dvorak, 34^th

• Goat tying: Sadie Hotzler, 17^th

• Pole bending: Sadie Hotzler, 1^st; Josie Dvorak, 13^th

Hotzler competed in the State Cutting finals in Owatonna last weekend and finished fifth.
