
Martin County West graduate Jaxson Rohman finished his college wrestling career in dominant fashion on Saturday as he pinned all three of his opponents at the NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships at Corteva Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
A senior at Augustana University, Rohman finished third at 125 pounds.
He wrestled in the national tournament in each of his four seasons with the Vikings, earning all-American honors three times. Rohman was the national runner up in 2023 and 2024.
Rohman started the day Saturday in the third consolation round and pinned Colton Drousias of Glenville State in 34 seconds. Rohman, who was seeded third, pinned fourth-seeded Anthony Aniciete of Tiffin in 6:36 in the consolation semifinals.
In his final collegiate match, Rohman pinned No. 8 Trevon Gray of Pitt-Johnstown in 2:20.
He earned the award for Most Falls in the Least Time at the tournament as he had four falls in a combined time of 11:13. No other wrestler had more than two falls.
Rohman finished the season with a 23-5 record and ended his career with an 80-23 mark.
Augustana had four wrestlers competing in the national tournament and each placed-in the top five as the Vikings ere second in the team standings.
Nebraska-Kearney was first with 115 points, with the Vikings second with 63 points. It’s the highest finish for Augustana since 2010 and is the fourth runner-up finish in program history.
