Carsen Musser and the Madison Capitols had their season come to and end this week as they fell in three games to the Youungstown Phantoms in the first round of the United States Hockey League.
The entire best-of-three series was played in Youngstown. Musser was in goal for Game One and Game Three of the series.
In the opening game, Musser recorded 29 saves as fifth-seeded Madison won 7-4 over fourth-seeded Youngstown.
After the Phantoms won Game Two 5-2, Musser was back in net for the deciding game, making 24 saves in a 8-4 loss. One of the goals was an empty netter.
For the season, Musser played in 32 games, compiling a 17-11-2-2 record. He had a 2.74 goals against average and a .905 save percentage.
Musser is a Colorado College commit and was a sixth-round pick (166th overall) of the Arizona Coyotes. The NHL has approved the Coyotes’ franchise moving to Utah.
