JACKSON – Windom’s Collin Lovell held Jackson without a hit as the Pirates defeated the Bulls 12-0 in five innings in First Nite League amateur baseball Sunday at Wacker Field. The game was a scheduled seven-inning contest.
Jackson had two base runners in the game as Alex Bretzman reached on an error in the third inning and Damien Phaly walked in the fifth.
The Pirates scored five runs in the first inning, one in the second, four in the fourth and two in the fifth.
Ryan Rasche started and took the loss for the Bulls. Pat Boggess and Kevin Holm also pitched for Jackson.
Jackson is scheduled to play two games on the road next Sunday with a 2 p.m. game at Heron Lake and at 5 p.m. at Lakefield.
The Frogs will try again to open their season again at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Stan King Field with a makeup contest vs. Mountain Lake.
