WINDOM – Top-seeded Luverne defeated fourth-seeded Jackson County Central 75-53 in the semifinals of the Section 3AA South Sub-Section girls basketball tournament. The Cardinals led 39-21 at halftime.
The Huskies made 12 three-point baskets in the game while hitting five two-point field goals.
Maci Farmer led JCC in scoring with 18 points on six baskets from three-point range.
Sadie Voss recorded 16 points, nine rebounds, three assists and three steals. Rylie Cother also scored in double figures with 13 points that included four treys.
Kylee Wenzel grabbed nine rebounds.
Elizabeth Wagner scored 26 points, Christina Wagner 17 and Brooklynn Ver Steeg 15 for the Cardinals.
Jackson County Central finishes its season with a 17-11 record.
In the second semifinal Tuesday, second-seeded Fairmont defeated Minnesota Valley Lutheran 77-61.
Luverne (23-4) and Fairmont (23-3) will play in the South sub-section championship game at 7 p.m. Friday at Worthington.
The 3AA North Sub-Section championship game will be played at Glenwood Friday with Montevideo (23-3) playing New London-Spicer (24-3).
