MARSHALL – Jackson County Central placed second at the Section 3A gymnastics meet Saturday at Marshall High School.
Worthington won the section title for the eighth straight year with a 145.4 total. The Huskies were second with 133.65.
JCC had one individual medal winner.
Payten Benda tied for sixth place on floor exercise with Kaysa Douty of Pipestone with a score of 9.075. They also tied for the final berth in the state meet with Douty advancing after a coin flip after the higher tiebreakers were all even.
Jackson County Central had four seniors on its roster this season, Maia Reed, Carson Schneekloth, Josefina Hermand and Olivia Blaskey.
The state meet is next weekend with the team competition Friday and individual Saturday at Roy Wilkins Auditorium in St. Paul. Meet time is 6 p.m. both days.
