NORTH MANKATO – Martin County West will face Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart in an elimination game in the Section 2A softball tournament at 10 a.m. Saturday at Caswell Park.
The sixth-seeded Mavericks opened the tournament Tuesday with a 12-2 home win over 11th-seeded Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove. On Thursday, MCW fell 15-1 on the road to third-seeded Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s.
Martin County West has an 11-8 record, while the seventh-seeded Mustangs are 9-10. With a win, the Mavericks would play again at noon.
Taylor Elliott had a double for MCW, with Lina Arnold and Emily Anderson each collecting a hit.
