Windom Area is scheduled to play Luverne for the second time in a week as the Eagles and Cardinals are scheduled to play a quarterfinal game in the Section 3A boys hockey tournament at 7 p.m. Thursday at Blue Mound Ice Arena.
The seventh-seeded Eagles opened the tournament Monday with a 6-0 win over 10th-seeded Redwood Valley at Windom Arena. That game had originally been scheduled for Tuesday but was moved up a day to be played ahead of the impending dangerous in the region.
Brady Espenson had a five-point game for Windom Area as he recorded three goals and two assists. Two players had a three-point game as Sonny Heil had a goal and two assists and Wriley Haugen was credited with three assists.
Chase Hamlett and Owen Dahna also scored goals for the Eagles. Luke Anderson, Karson LaCanne and Cragen Porath had assists.
Grant Dronen made 10 saves in recording the shutout for Windom Area, which put 61 shots on Redwood goalie Camden Cilek.
Luverne won both regular-season games over the Eagles, 5-3 last Thursday in Windom and 6-5 in Luverne on Jan. 28.
