Rachel Mohr shot a first-round 102 and is tied for 26th place, while Payton Coquyt carded 103 and is tied for 30th.
There’s a tie for the individual lead between Annika DeBoer and Arivia DeBoer, both of Minnewaska Area, who carded 78s in the first round.
Minnewaska Area shot a first-round 321 and leads the team standings by 50 strokes over New London-Spicer.
JCC’s Tavin Miller shot an 83 in the opening round and is tied for 34th place.
New Ulm’s Jaxon Buegler carded a three-under 69 in the first round for a two-stroke lead over Gabe Truscinski of New London-Spicer and Zach Guggisberg of Minnewaska Area.
The winning team and the top five individuals not on that team advance to the state Class 2A tournament at Ridges at Sand Creek in Jordan.
