Martin County Area and Jackson County Central will be competing in their section gymnastics meets over the next few days.
The Magic will compete in the Section 2A meet at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in St. James. The Huskies are in the Section 3A meet at noon Saturday in Windom.
In each case the winning team will advance to the state team competition Friday, Feb. 23 at Roy Wilkins Auditorium in St. Paul.
Individuals qualifying for state meet will compete on Saturday, Feb. 24, also at Roy Wilkins Auditorium. The top three all arounders advance to the state meet along with the top three gymnasts on each event who did not qualify in all-around.
There will be nine teams competing in Section 2A.
Participating will be the six teams in the Big South Conference’s East Division, Martin County Area, Blue Earth Area, New Ulm, St. James Area, St. Peter and Waseca. Rounding out the field will be three Big Nine teams, Faribault, Mankato East and Mankato West.
East was 12th in the final Class A team ratings, MCA 18th and Waseca 22nd.
Competing in Section 3A will be the seven Big South Conference West Division teams, JCC, Luverne, Marshall, Pipestone, Redwood Valley, Windom/Mountain Lake and Worthington.
The Trojans were third in the final ratings and Redwood Valley 25th.
