MAPLETON – Jackson County Central was the team champion in both the girls and boys divisions at the Section 2A South Sub-Section meet Thursday.
The Huskies won the girls team title with 160 points, with Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial/Nicollet second (110) and New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva third (70).
JCC won the boys crown with 125.83 points, with LCWM/Nicollet second (104) and Maple River third (94.83).
Combined, the Jackson County Central girls and boys qualified 40 individual events (22 girls and 18 boys) and three relays (two girls and one boys) for the Section 2A meet at Todnem Field at Mankato West High School on Saturday, June 4.
Martin County West’s girls advanced four individual events and one relay, while the boys qualified one individual event and one relay.
The top two finishers in each event automatically qualify for the state meet. Entries can also advance by meeting a qualifying standard in each event.
